Create a Peaceful and Positive Classroom
You may be curious about bringing meditation and mindfulness for schools into your work. Especially as an educator where you play a crucial role in shaping the mental and emotional well-being of your students.
When children are anxious, stressed, struggling in class, or acting out, you strive to create a classroom environment that helps fosters calm, safety, and positive development.
Dedicated to the wellbeing of young people, you have to balance the demands of a busy school environment with planning skills, class management, engaging the diverse needs of your students in addition to your own self care.
It can be tough.
For 20 years we have been teaching adults (including educators) to bring meditation skills to young people. In 2024 we piloted a course with an international school where we learned from educators; listening to their needs and understanding their unique professional and personal challenges. In consultation with educators and the pilot course, we are creating new modules – Connected Kids for Educators.
From the end of February 2025, we will release our first Connected Kids for Educators (CKE) – Teach Meditation 101 module to empower professional educators with the mindful tools to support students’ emotional and behavioural development.
This will benefit all levels of experience, but in particular it supports those new to meditation or teaching it in the classroom:
These modules will equip educators with the mindful knowledge and skills to adapt teaching meditation in an educational setting.
AG,
Enhance your educator’s experience
These modules are ideal for busy educators eager to integrate mindfulness into their teaching practice, regardless of previous meditation experience. They will help you and your children develop mindful skills and engage in creative meditation practices.
The self-directed study modules specifically help educators adapt mindful activities to the needs of a classroom. Optional online drop-in sessions enable you to ask questions to hone your understanding and skills. We’ll guide you how to buddy up with colleagues or other course attendees to help you stay focused throughout.
These meditation and mindfulness for schools modules cover all age groups. Within the course we’ll show you how to engage meditation skills at different levels of child development.
In addition, we guide you how to deliver and integrate your mindful creations as an activity or as a mindful lesson plan that connects and can be easily adapted to your current curriculum.
