There\u2019s pressure to keep them entertained 24\/7, and it\u2019s easy to let your own self-care, meditation practice slide.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"751\">But to be honest, this is where your mindfulness practice becomes a lifeline. Even 5\u201310 minutes a day can help you stay grounded, calm and more present \u2013 with yourself and with your kids.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"907\"><strong data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"791\">Don\u2019t worry if they don\u2019t join in.<\/strong> Let them see you practising. If they do want to take part \u2013 great. If not, you\u2019re still setting a powerful example.<\/p>\n<h3 data-start=\"909\" data-end=\"959\">Everyday Mindfulness Ideas (for you &amp; them)<\/h3>\n<p>To help you approach this more creatively, here are a few suggestion to get you started.<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1489\">\n<li data-start=\"960\" data-end=\"1065\">\n<p data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1065\"><strong data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"983\">Breathe on the go<\/strong> \u2013 in the car, while cooking, even in the loo! Let your out-breath be your anchor as it&#8217;s known to help your nervous system reset (eg move out of stress).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1176\">\n<p data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1176\"><strong data-start=\"1068\" data-end=\"1086\">Use the senses<\/strong> \u2013 notice what you can see, hear, feel, taste, or smell when walking, swimming, or eating (especially if it&#8217;s ice-cream!)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1176\"><strong>Be honest with yourself &#8211; <\/strong>\u00a0acknowledge you might be feeling, hot, bothered or grumpy. It&#8217;s okay.\u00a0 When you accept these feelings they often lose their sting.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1177\" data-end=\"1276\">\n<p data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1276\"><strong data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1200\">Connect to the best healer &#8211; nature<\/strong> \u2013 trees, grass, sand\u2026 being outside helps us feel calmer and more grounded just by being there.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1277\" data-end=\"1375\">\n<p data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1375\"><strong data-start=\"1279\" data-end=\"1297\">Move mindfully<\/strong> \u2013 yoga, cartwheels, skipping\u2026 anything can be a meditation if you&#8217;re present.\u00a0 Your kids have much to teach you about this.\u00a0 Includes giggles and laughing too &#8211; releases endorphins into the bloodstream and that reduces stress that&#8217;s built up.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1489\">\n<p data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1489\"><strong data-start=\"1378\" data-end=\"1394\">Get creative<\/strong> \u2013 colour a mandala, guide them into a fun, safe place in their imaginations&#8230;or let your child guide you in a \u201cstory meditation\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1376\" data-end=\"1489\"><strong>Teen &#8216;trouble&#8217;<\/strong> &#8211; if your teens are of the age where they are with you under resistance, then why not introduce them to meditations online &#8211; we listed meditation on the<a href=\"https:\/\/insighttimer.com\/connectedkidsltd\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> Insight Timer (free) App<\/a> for all ages, including teens.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Real Stories, Real Results<\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1644\">This isn\u2019t about doing it perfectly. It\u2019s about finding little mindful moments in the chaos.
